THE SOUTHERN VULTURES – BIOGRAPHY
The Southern Vultures is an embodiment of rock and roll ecstasy, with clear blues roots, displaying soulful vocals paired with an aptitude for exceptional guitar virtuosity.
Internationally lauded and taken place at the forefront of the talent-rich global blues/rock scene in the UK blues-rock charts rapidly scene since 2019, headlining festivals around UK and Europe to crowds of thousands and amassing 150k followers over their social accounts, since their first full album “And the Southern Vultures” and debut singles “Wander” and “Fell in Love”.
The band was founded by the world-class claimed guitarist, award-winning, singer and songwriter Miguel Montalban as a frontman and guitarist Edoardo Mariotti (Tower Bridge, Incognito) on the drums, the multi-intrumentist Bruno Pint on the bass, and most recently the talented rhythm guitarist and backing voice, Yuri Kufa.
Perfect balance between tone and performance is our key, Montalban firms. The audience experience a blast of virtuosity and a superb night of great songs and excellent musicianship, with the Electrifying Miguel Montalban & the Southern Vultures.
Montalban compose and produce all his records as well as co-worked with Grammy Winning producers. Kevin Metcalfe (Queen, David Bowie, Duran Duran, White Stripes) producing several singles: “Girl” in London’s Red Bull Music Studios. Worked also with Mike Hedges, Haydn Bendall, Sony production “Adagio”, Andy Whitmore (Peter Andre, Elton John) and Eroc (Grobschnitt, Robin Trower, Gary Moore), who mixed and mastered his debut album ” AND THE SOUTHERN VULTURES” in 2020/2021.
The band shared big stages with Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), Ricky Warwick (Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy) Texas Band, Chris Farlowe, Dare, King King, and Ten Years After, among many others leading to co-headlining show with Samantha Fish in the Netherlands in 2023.
The newest double album, 2023, ‘Live In Birmingham’ is the perfect introduction to the band, which showcases the exhilarating playing of Chilean- born Montalban over the rock-solid backbone of The Southern Vultures (Miguel Montalban – Lead and vocals, Edoardo Marriotti – drums, Bruno Pint – bass, Yuri Kufa – rhythm & BV).
